Ending and Blocking Venue Partnerships

When to end a partnership, when to block a venue, and why a partner venue can drop out for a while

End or block?

Both take a venue out of your campaigns. The difference is whether it can come back.

End partnership Block venue
An approved partner Ends the partnership Ends the partnership
A pending request Not available Declines the request
Can the venue ask again? Yes, whenever it likes No, not until you unblock it
Who can do it The club owner or anyone on the crew The club owner or anyone on the crew
Your partnerships with other venues Not affected Not affected

Both live on the Venue Partnerships screen: Venues → Pending Partners if you're the club owner, or Venue Partners → Partners & Offers if you're on the crew.

Ending a partnership

In Approved Partners, select End partnership next to the venue and confirm. From then on:

  • the venue leaves your campaigns
  • its offers for your fans stop, and it can't create new ones for your club
  • check-ins and offer claims it has already confirmed, the fees they booked and any invoices stay exactly as they are

The venue moves to Ended Partnerships with the name of whoever ended it and the date. A venue can end the partnership from its side too, and you'll see who did. If the venue asks to partner again later, the request lands in Pending Requests like any other, and nothing is approved until someone on your team approves it.

Blocking a venue

Block a venue when you don't want it asking your club again. Block appears on pending requests, approved partners, ended partnerships and rejected requests. You can add a reason, which only your team sees.

  • Blocking an approved partner ends the partnership first, with the same effects as above.
  • Blocking a pending request declines it.
  • Either way, the venue can't send your club another request while the block stands. It sees your club as not accepting requests, but not who decided or why. Other clubs aren't affected.

Blocked venues move to Blocked Venues, which shows who blocked each one and when, plus the reason. Select Unblock to lift it. The venue can then ask again, but nothing is approved until your team approves a new request.

Every decision is on record

Each request, approval, decline, ending, block and unblock is kept with who made it and when. Open History under a venue to see the whole trail, for example a venue that was declined, asked again and was approved a month later. It's the quickest way to answer "who approved this venue?" when a crew member has moved on.

When a partner venue drops out for a while

A partner venue can drop out of your campaigns and offers in the fan app for a while, even though your partnership is still in place. That happens when Game Set Engage pauses the venue: when it has an overdue invoice, or when we've suspended it. In Approved Partners, a badge next to the venue tells you which: Paused: overdue invoice or Suspended by Game Set Engage.

While it's paused, fans don't see the venue and can't check in there or claim its offers, so no new fees build up. Once that's sorted (say the invoice gets paid), the venue comes back by itself with its campaign places and offers as they were. You don't need to do anything.

If someone on your crew is suspended

Game Set Engage can suspend or block an individual account when we see activity that breaks the rules. That person is signed out of the website straight away and can't sign in until the suspension ends or we lift the block. Your club, your partnerships and the rest of your team carry on as normal.

Spotted a fan gaming check-ins?

Game Set Engage reviews suspicious activity and can suspend fan accounts. Clubs can't suspend fans themselves. If something looks wrong, email hello@gamesetengage.com with the fan's name and what you noticed.
